First evening with South Fork Outfitting, after a small 8 walked by and right before a monster 8 came thru, this really wide 7 came up the creek bed about 40 yards away. All the deer needed another year or two, but it was a good first day. … deer hunting bow hunt illinois south fork

was taken during the season of 05-06 on a family ranch in S TX. I only had management buck privileges in 05, so I had to film and scout and could only watch these bucks. The 8pt I shoot in this clip was 9+yrs old. Some of them were fully mature this year, but were hard to find. None of these bucks are tame or penned. With a camera, it aint always about the kill. deer hunting deer hunting deer hunting bow bow bow whitetail whitetail whitetail hunt hunt hunt … deer hunting buck whitetail …

Deer Hunt – www.HUNTNGFOOTAGE.COM I saw this buck briefly 2 years ago. Back then he was a 10pt and I thought he was 4yrs old. Today I was sitting in the same box blind overlooking an oat patch and a road. The buck showed up, I turned on the camera, realized he was a BIG 8pt and decided to take him. I grabbed for my rifle as he was walking out of the frame, got a good rest, re-focused the camera, and took the shot. This all happened in about 1 minute’s time! I would have been in a bow blind …

For the newcomer to deer hunting the thought of all the items required for the first hunt can be overwhelming. There are dozens of things that aren’t worth the hunter’s time or money, and things that can be useful. There are a few basic items though that every hunter should never go into the woods without.

Camouflage

Obviously you don’t want to alert every creature in the woods to your presence. Hunters dress head to toe in camouflage to remain hidden from their prey. Hats, socks, gloves, and boots are available in camouflage, but the hunter needs to be aware of the law too. Hunting regulations require that every hunter incorporate the standard hunter orange into their attire while in the woods. A simple hat or vest is enough to be seen by other hunters so you’re not mistaken for wildlife, and many hunters now opt for the orange camouflage for a nice compromise of the two.

Firearms

A hunter can’t step into the woods without a weapon, and in most states hunters may carry a handgun of any caliber, or rifles or shotguns at a low gauge. Many hunters carry both, since the handgun is smaller and lighter. If you only want to carry one though, choose the one you are most accurate with. While a newcomer may think that the more ammunition the better, it is actually just the opposite in deer hunting. A hunter can sit the entire day without seeing a single animal, and even if he does, oftentimes he’ll need only a few bullets for the job; plus, the more ammunition, the heavier the haul into the hunting site. Earplugs or headsets may also be something to consider as shooting at close range can do permanent damage to your hearing.

Personal Supplies

Another thing to keep in mind when packing for your trip is the personal supplies you might need when sitting outside all day. Be sure to dress warm as deer hunting is done in the cooler part of late fall, especially in the early morning and late evening. Also don’t forget food, sitting and waiting can be torture when hunger pains strike, so try some small snacks or sandwiches to sustain you. With these things in mind a newcomer to deer hunting will be ready to tackle his first hunting season and increase his chances of bringing home a trophy.

, Alabama is the place to find trophy bucks. Alabama maintains dozens of properties throughout the state to breed and grow big bucks and does. In total, about 5,000 acres of land is preserved and maintained by lodges and farms to nurture the deer population and virtually guarantee a better hunting experience for every hunter who visits.

These farms feed a special diet to the deer to ensure large bucks with well developed antlers. The feed is full of iron, clay pees, grain sorghum, and other protein sources to assist in growth. In recent years, the ratio of bucks to does has increased season by season. The ratio in the 2000-2001 season was reported at 3 to 1, and by the 2002-2003 season, the ratio was down 2.2 to 1 in the preserves, ensuring that the population flourishes.

Alabama has two seasons, both bow hunting and firearm hunting, like many other states. The dates vary year to year, with bow hunting starting in mid-October, and gun season starting at the end of November. Be sure to check with the Alabama Department of Wildlife for exact dates. Another option many farms offer to hunters is a training season often held in the winter. A guide will take you out into the woods where you’ll learn the Alabama landscape and how to best use it to your advantage in searching out your trophy buck. Many of the farms also cater to each specific hunter’s goals and preferences. Often, hunters have the option to hunt with a guide who knows the property intimately, or they can always choose to go it alone. Either way, the farm is there to assist you in reaching your hunting goal.

Alabama deer hunting has become a profitable business for those in the state. Hunters have flocked to Alabama to seek out trophy bucks for decades; it becomes an experience unmatched. Because of the minimal hunting restrictions and the many big buck opportunities throughout the state, hunting has become a business beneficial for all involved.
